Each Disney resort hosts a magical evening campfire for guests to roast complimentary marshmallows, make their own Mickey s’mores, and chat with cheerful Cast Members. I’ve been lucky enough to experience every single resort’s campfire activity, and if you’ve been following @MagicalResortGuide on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve seen my recent series of posts with photos and reviews of each resort campfire. They’re all a fun time and worth visiting, but now I’m ranking my top five campfires and letting you know which ones are my absolute favorites!

Mosaic art is quickly becoming one of the most popular resort crafts, and the opportunity for guests to create their own mosaics has been popping up at multiple resorts around Walt Disney World.

If you have any downtime outside of the parks planned - like a resort-only day, hanging out at a resort Community Hall for a few hours for an afternoon break, or even if you’re stuck inside on a rainy day - one of the top go-to activities is ceramic painting! Ceramic painting is available at any Community Hall, every single day from 10:00 AM-10:00 PM.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is one of the best places to be if you’re planning a resort-only day, and the L&B Gem Mining Co. Experience is an amazing addition to your Fort Wilderness activity itinerary. This is truly a “hidden gem” of an activity that doesn’t get much attention, but it’s so unique (and a perfect fit for anyone that collects gems, fossils, arrowheads, shark teeth, or rocks)!

Of all the available “Enchanted Extra” add-ons that you can include during your Disney vacation, a Specialty Fireworks Cruise is one of the very best!

Mosaic crafts have recently exploded in popularity around Disney resorts, and opportunities to create your own Disney mosaic can be found in several different resorts now - but did you know that this activity originally began at Coronado Springs? This has become a hard-to-get reservation, but I managed to snag an appointment to try it out!

It’s no surprise that Port Orleans - French Quarter, the Disney resort known for celebrating the spirit of New Orleans all year long, is the best place to be when Mardi Gras rolls around each year! This resort really goes all-out to make Mardi Gras incredibly fun for guests with a parade, a nighttime party, special character meets, and more.

Disney Vacation Club’s Community Halls are popular spaces meant for relaxing activities such as crafting, painting, and playing games. But did you know that there are a couple of other similar locations on Disney property that fall a little short of the “Community Hall” designation?

Mickey Tie-Dye is one of the most universal activities at Walt Disney World resorts and is available at nearly every resort. Every single day, Mickey Tie-Dye is happening at multiple resorts on Disney property, and anyone is welcome to participate at any resort!

There’s artistic inspiration everywhere you look at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and their Mason Jar Aquarium activity is the perfect way for little ones to use their creativity and imagination!

Valentine’s Day is a fun holiday at Walt Disney World resorts! Disney treats it as a minor holiday, so not all of the resorts host special Valentine’s Day activities, but I was able to visit some resorts this year that had some cute activities scheduled. The Deluxe resorts and Fort Wilderness are really the best places to be - most of them had something fun planned and offered some unique activities!

Disney resorts really go all-out on Halloween! If you’re looking for a memorable, free way to celebrate Halloween during your Disney trip without spending hundreds of dollars on tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, hanging out at the resorts is a great alternative.
