Valentine’s Day 2022: Family Fun at Walt Disney World Resorts

Valentine’s Day is a fun holiday at Walt Disney World resorts! Disney treats it as a minor holiday, so not all of the resorts host special Valentine’s Day activities, but I was able to visit some resorts this year that had some cute activities scheduled. The Deluxe resorts and Fort Wilderness are really the best places to be - most of them had something fun planned and offered some unique activities! There wasn’t much going on at the Deluxe Villas, Moderates (with the exception of Fort Wilderness), or Values, so if you’re looking for something special to do for Valentine’s Day next year, your best shot at being able to participate in some memorable activities will be to make plans at a Deluxe resort or at Fort Wilderness that day.

Animal Kingdom Lodge + Jambo House + Kidani Village

Animal Kingdom Lodge decided to theme the day’s events to Frozen! Kidani had some great activities like making Valentine’s Cards, games, and trivia happening in the Palace Library. Over at Jambo House, they kept the Frozen fun going with some cool poolside games and the chance to design your own cupcakes. And both the Kidani Village Community Hall and Simba’s Activity Center featured special Valentine’s Day crafts and ceramics.

Contemporary Resort + Bay Lake Tower

Contemporary hosted a lot of Valentine’s Day pool activities, plus a bonus Valentine’s Day Slime session! They also hosted special Super Bowl-themed activities (I’m posting it here since the Super Bowl was the day before Valentine’s Day this year).

Fort Wilderness Campground + Cabins

Fort Wilderness celebrated Valentine’s Day with a special Valentine-themed tie-dye event. They themed Valentine’s Day activities to Tangled, with a Floating Lantern Scavenger Hunt, Frying Pan Poolside Games (including making Valentine’s Day cards), Rapunzel’s Paint Corner, “Best Day Ever” Family Trivia Challenge, and ended the day with their usual campfire and Movie Under the Stars (which was Tangled, of course).

Grand Floridian

The Grand Floridian changed their “Paint Your Disney Story” event to “Paint Your Disney Love Story” to fit the Valentine’s Day theme! They also held a special Valentine’s Bingo game, Disney Couples Trivia, a Create-Your-Own Valentine’s Day Card activity, and a Name That Disney Love Song competition.

Old Key West

Old Key West didn’t have any special events for Valentine’s Day, but they did have several special Valentine’s Day-themed crafts available in the Community Hall.

Port Orleans - French Quarter

Port Orleans - French Quarter had a fun message board for families to share their Valentine’s Day memories. They also had a table set up in Jackson Square Gifts & Desires with lots of gift baskets, flower bouquets, and other last-minute Valentine’s Day gifts available for purchase. This resort didn’t host any special Valentine’s Day activities, though.

Port Orleans - Riverside

Port Orleans - Riverside had a table of gifts available in their gift shop, as well as a message board for guests to share their Valentine’s Day memories. They also brought some Valentine’s Day fun to their nightly campfire by adding balloons and cute marshmallow bags decorated with hearts.

Riviera Resort

Riviera didn’t host any special Valentine’s Day events, but they did have some fun new Valentine’s Day crafts available in the Eventi Room. Guests could decorate wine glasses, paint Valentine’s Day animation cels, paint themed mini canvases, and make their own sugar scrub.

Saratoga Springs

At Saratoga Springs, they didn’t host any special activities either, but they did have a lot of Valentine’s Day offerings available in the Community Hall. Guests could paint a variety of Valentine’s Day ceramics, color a magnet, make Valentine’s Day cards, and color their own picture frame magnet.

Wilderness Lodge + Boulder Ridge + Copper Creek

At Wilderness Lodge, they really just themed their normal daily activities to Valentine’s Day - nothing special added, except for a fun Popcorn Bar added to the evening’s Movie Under the Stars.
